Improving Safety with Proper Equipment Use

I’ve been noticing that some of our newer employees aren’t using the safety gear properly, especially during meat cutting tasks. We had an incident last week where a worker’s hand got too close to the knife because they weren’t focused on wearing cut-resistant gloves. It’s crucial that we get everyone up to speed on the importance of safety gear; I’ve found refresher training sessions can really help cement the rules. Anyone else facing similar challenges?

It’s surprising how many folks think gloves are optional until they get a close shave with a knife! I once had a teammate who swore by the gloves for any slicing task after a minor slip — made a believer out of him. Maybe we could set up a buddy system to remind each other to gear up?
